Computing – branch databases
Today, class 7 learned about ‘branch databases.’ We played some fun games of ‘guess who’ in pairs using YES/NO questions to try and guess the vegetable or musical instrument.

Today was our first lesson in databases. We have been working practically to learn about branching databases. Using yes no questions we were able to sort the data until we found our answer. A bit like the game Guess Who.
Tuesday 6th February was Safer Internet Day, to celebrate this day the children learnt more about how to stay safe and be SMART on the internet. The children made some lovely posters which will be displayed in our classroom!

For Safer Internet Day, class 7 looked at the different ways to create a ‘positive digital footprint’. We made a poster about this and then discussed our own digital footprints – thinking about our online use and how we can stay safe online.

Today we celebrated Safer Internet Day. We looked at how technology has changed over time and how it’s influence is increased. We also discussed how the internet influences us today and designed our own, positive, influencers.
We spoke about how we can made the internet a safer and better place. We discussed how to stop online bullies and what to do if someone says something unkind to us. We have drawn emojis to describe how certain comments would make us feel.

We have been applying our coding skills to create and debug programmes. We’ve learnt some new terminology such as nesting which has nothing to do with birds.
