Skara Brae team work!

This week we created a model of Skara Brae and created a Stone Age village. We had to work hard as a team to connect our village together in order to link the tunnels together that we have learnt about and the secret passageways!  

All About Shavuot

In this morning’s assembly, we learnt all about Shavuot; the Jewish harvest festival that takes place 6 weeks after Passover. Shavuot is celebrated to mark the receiving of the Torah from God at Mount Sinai. Take a look at this video, which explains the festival in more detail:

Snail race 🐌

In nursery we have been learning lots of different mathematical vocabulary while having fun playing the snail race game, for example, one more step, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, different colours. We had to take turns, share and cooperate with each other.

Foods for celebration

This term in Beliefs and Values, Class 10 have been looking at food and fasting in various world religions. Today we tried some foods that are eaten for different religious celebrations. Thanks Miss Forbes for all the delicious food!

Should Animals Be Kept in Captivity?

This was the question posed to Class 9 in their latest Language and Communication lesson. They were encouraged to consider words such as ‘conservation’, ‘endangered’, ‘cruelty’ and ‘survival’ when formulating their responses. It was a polarising debate, but all the children were respectful of each other’s opinions, even when disagreeing. Read more…
