This week in Computing, we took on the Bebras Challenge. The Bebras Computing Challenge introduces computational thinking to students. In pairs, children had to answer puzzle questions that focus on computational and logical thinking.
A big well done to the Year 5/6 boys and girls who took part in the recent Dodgeball tournaments at Heywood Sports Village. You all represented our school brilliantly and did an amazing job!

This week in RE we explored Bible stories centred around Jesus and discussed their importance to Christians. Specifically, we read Gospels by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and thought about why these gospels were ‘good news’ to Christians. We finished off by creating freeze frames of different Bible stories. This week, we have been learning about climate change and its impact on the planet. We came across new key vocabulary like fossil fuels, atmosphere, greenhouse gas and global warming. We then created a poster showing the ways climate change is affecting our Earth.
Our D&T project this half term is pizza making. Today, we explored the appearance, smell, taste and texture of supermarket bought pizzas and evaluated them. We enjoyed them all but especially enjoyed the BBQ chicken pizza and everyone was adventurous enough to try the spinach and ricotta pizza!
Today in Computing, we completed a carousel of activities focusing on computational thinking. Computational thinking is thinking like a computer to perform a calculation or figure something out.
