Year 4 have today used Google Earth to explore famous American landmarks such as the Empire State Building, Mount Rushmore, Times Square, Golden Gate Bridge and the Grand Canyon. This is a part of our current Linked Learning topic which will see us travel Route 66 in the coming weeks.
This week as part of our Newspaper learning journey for English, Class 11 stumbled upon a crime in which an angry wolf was arrested for murder and disturbing the peace. It is believed that Mr A T Wolf had gobbled up two pigs, who happened to be brothers, after destroying their houses. Class 12 have started their new topic – Newspapers. We have been reading lots of different newspapers, and picking out the key features during a ‘Newspaper Hunt’!
Year 4 have made excellent progress today in their continuation of work on factor pairs and prime numbers. Using Cuisenaire Rods, the children were able to identify different arrays in order to find factor pairs.
In maths Class 3 have been developing a greater understanding of number. We used physical resources to make learning fun and engaging.
This week, Class 4 have been using online maps to explore the local area. Great fun was had locating their houses and using ‘street view’ to make their way to school.
Today in class 7, we began to look at 2 digit numbers divided by a 1 digit number. This required us to bring the dienes back out and get hands on. This allows us to see the division first hand and take practical approach. have a look at how we got on:
Today Class 8 used the dienes to divide. We worked in pairs and closely followed the Steps to Success to help us to understand this tricky new concept.
