Budding Inventors

Class 13 have been busy inventing different types of wearable technology. They began by looking at products that are already available, then worked in teams to design their own. They have thought of some fantastic inventions such as times tables bracelets, mistaken scanners and an ear-piece which records the teacher if you nod off in class. Now they have completed their designs, the next step will be making a prototype. Look at our blog next Read more…

Science

Class 3 have been investigating which objects are magnetic. We then made our very own magnetic fishing game. We created magnetic fishing rods and attached metal paper clips to our fish.

Fun with friction

Time for an investigation! our current science topic is forces and magnets and this week our focus was on friction. We wanted to see evidence of how friction works against a certain force so we conducted an investigation. We discussed fair testing and agreed on a hypothesis. We then set off equipped with our Newton Meters to test which surfaces created the least and the most friction using weighted buckets.

Investigating Magnets

As part of their topic work on ‘Materials’, Class 4 have been investigating which materials are magnetic and which aren’t. They discovered that all the magnetic objects they found were made of metal, but that not all metals were magnetic. They used this this knowledge to create their own magnetic fishing game.

Animal soup!

In the Nursery this week we have been learning about vegetables and reading the story ‘Animal soup’. We helped to prepare the vegetables by peeling and chopping them. We were very good at using the knives and peelers. Watch out Gordon Ramsey! We have some great future chefs in the making! We invited our Mummies and Daddies in to help us eat it!
