Whilst you’re at home, it’s not only important that you are reading, but also that you find the time to enjoy being read to!

There are many ways that you can do this online at the moment – just switch on, find a cosy spot, get comfortable and listen. You can do this any time you like!

Lots of authors are reading their own stories aloud and many platforms are offering free downloads of audiobooks. Scan through the list below to see if there’s something that suits you!

 

Amazon Audible are offering free downloads of their audio-books for all children of all ages.

Oliver Jeffers (author of ‘How to Catch a Star’ ‘Lost and Found’ etc) is reading one of his amazingly illustrated picture books each evening and uploading to his website here: https://www.oliverjeffers.com/books#/abookaday/
His stories are probably best suited to Nursery – Year 2 age.

Cressida Cowell  (author of ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ ‘Wizards of Once’) will be reading a chapter of  her book, ‘How to Train Your Dragon’. Check in each day to listen to a new chapter. Cressida Cowell – How to Train Your Dragon

David Walliams (author of ‘Gangsta Granny’, ‘Awful Auntie’ etc) will be reading a 30 minute story from ‘The World’s Worst Children 2’ every day on his website. Follow this link to listen: WorldofDavidWalliams.com
Best suited to Year 3 upwards.
