Today, Class 13 have been recapping place value through team games. They had to work together to order and partition different numbers. They showed great communication and cooperation skills in order to achieve their aim. What a great start to our Year 6 Maths journey!
In fluency, Class 14 had to design new tables for the Camelot Design Company. They were given the number of sides, the length of the sides and the angles.
Reception have been exploring numbers beyond 10 this week. We have used 10 frames to make numbers and find out what happens when we add more or take some away.
Children in Year 4 have been having lots of fun at our Times Tables after school club. They have been playing lots of games to help them learn and remember their times tables.
In maths this week, we started our new topic on diving by 10 beyond the decimal point. To visualise this, we each wrote a number on a piece of paper and stood in front of a place value grid. We then moved one place to the right for each division.
Year 3 have been working hard with equivalent fractions in maths. Today we worked practically to find equivalent fractions for 1 whole. It really helped to make the fractions physically.
We have been practicing measuring length using ‘longer’ and ‘shorter’. We made playdough caterpillars and compared the lengths with our partners.
We’ve been using concrete resources to deepen our understanding of how 2 digit numbers can be multiplied or divided by 1 digit numbers.
