Rounders!

First Aid

As part of our ‘being my best’ topic, our last lesson was dealing with different medical emergencies. We learnt how to handle burns, choking, bumps, cuts, and even helping people who are unresponsive but breathing. we went and practised by putting each other in the recovery position.

Climate Change VR

We got to experience VR today and we explored how Climate Change is affecting our planet. We got up close and friendly with Polar Bears and Orangutans. It was amazing! Because we were so good, we even got to experience a tarantula for free! We were so lucky!     Read more…

Water Cycle in a bag

Today we looked at the water cycle and how water circulates in our everyday life. To replicate this, we put some water in a bag and stuck it to the window. we witnessed the effects of evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. It’s super interesting.

Dividing by 10

In maths this week, we started our new topic on diving by 10 beyond the decimal point. To visualise this, we each wrote a number on a piece of paper and stood in front of a place value grid. We then moved one place to the right for each division.

Norwegian delicacies

We had a delightful Geography lesson today as we started by recapping what we  learnt last lesson by grouping facts about Norway and the UK together. we then sampled some delicious Norwegian salmon. I think we agree it’s an acquired taste.

Paragraph construction

To prepare us for our upcoming special write, we printed off a persuasive speech and cut it into its sentences. With these sentences, we grouped them into paragraphs around the same topic. To finish off, we summarised these paragraphs into our books.

Evaporation!

In science this week, we found a practical way to see the speed at which things evaporate. We poured down some water and drew around the puddle. We measured how much had evaporated every 5 minutes.
