Our new science topic is sure to be an eventful one as we look to take on lots of experiments by working scientifically. To kick us off, we focused on what it means to be a scientist, looking at fair tests, variables, predictions and results. As a first test, we Read more…
In Class 1 we have started learning about the different values of coins. We have been matching coins to their numerical values, sorting coins, and using coins in a range of role play situations from a grocery shop to buying tickets for a journey into space!
Today we explored the concept of regular and irregular shapes and how to recognise them. To help, we used a joined piece of string and worked together to create both regular and irregular versions of different 2D shapes. This was fairly tricky when trying to make all the sides and Read more…

Class 14 worked hard on a particularly cryptic reasoning challenge in Maths today. They needed to draw from their knowledge of algebra, measurement (conversion of) and ratio in order to solve this particular problem.
Children in Class 1 and 2 have been enjoying playing maths games this week such as top trumps, dominoes and spotty dogs. Children have been talking about numbers, comparing them, adding them and describing them.
Class 3 have been measuring objects using non-standard units in Maths this week. Today we used cubes to measure the length of different objects including rulers, lunch boxes and books. We took care to start at the edge of the objects to make sure we made an accurate measurement.
Class 11 used their mastery skills and perseverance to be on the Olympic panel in Maths! Children had the decimal scores of a heptathalon event and had to order the scores of 10 Athletes. This was particularly challenging as some events were in ascending order (hurdles) and some were in Read more…
