Snail race 🐌

In nursery we have been learning lots of different mathematical vocabulary while having fun playing the snail race game, for example, one more step, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, different colours. We had to take turns, share and cooperate with each other.

Year 6 see the light!

Class 14 have been completing a Science unit in a week, following the completion of our SATs. The topic – Seeing Light – will see the children create their own periscopes. Before this, however, they explored how mirrors reflect light at different angles.

Star Bakers!

Class 14 are preparing for the Great Harwood Park Bake Off. Yesterday we researched famous bakers, recipes and ingredients. Everyone picked three cakes to draw and then noted down the necessary ingredients.

Making Boats: Sails and Keels

In Design and Technology this week, Class 9 investigated the use of sails and keels. After making an origami boat, they were challenged to build a functional sail and then test their design in the water tray with wind power provided by a hairdryer. Some were successful. Others were not so successful…  

Throwing and catching in the sun!

Today year one have been practising throwing,catching and recovery using bats and balls. First they played a game of skill squares and practised balancing the ball on their bats. Then we played Funfair where the children team up and play a relay game to knock the balls from the cones.

Continents!

In Linked Learning we have been learning about the 7 continents of the world and explorers that have been there. This week we have learnt about Kenya, in Africa. We have found out where it is in the world, what currency they use, which foods they eat and the difference in homes and their culture.

New Football Kit!

Our new football kit (in our new uniform colours) arrived this week!  It has been provided by The Premier League and Nike who run a kit scheme to provide schools with kits in a bid to encourage children to be more active. Roll on our next competition so we can wear them and raise our team spirit!
