Good morning Year 6! We hope you are enjoying the activities and have been able to enjoy some of the lovely sunshine this week! Today is Thursday so it is a great day to think about what you are thankful for.

The activities for today are:

English

  • Read for at least 15 minutes today. You could also read to a younger member of your family or help them to read their reading book.
  • English reading  comprehension worksheet ‘The travels of Marianne North’.

Maths

  • Complete Power Maths ‘Decimals as fractions’ worksheet. Remember to label the place value headings above the decimals to help you with your fractions such as tenths and hundredths.
  • Complete Arithmetic Test Summer 3. This should take you around half an hour to complete. Then either use the answers in the pack to mark yourself or ask someone else to mark it for you. Did you beat your score from Tuesday?

Computing

  • Complete the ‘Stay safe from Spam’ worksheet in your home learning packs.
  • For extra computing work, you might want to access Hour of Code or Scratch to practise your coding skills.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. This year’s theme is kindness, with the week running from 18 – 24 May.

The focus on kindness is a response to the coronavirus outbreak, which is having a big impact on people’s mental health.

You could make a kindness cloud for someone in your family. Think about what makes them special to make their day! Here is an example:

If you need any help or advice with today’s activities, get in touch on the blog or ask an adult to email your class teacher.
