Enterprise week
We have had a very busy week designing and making Christmas stained glass stars and book marks for our enterprise stall. We have had lots of fun and are starting to feel rather Christmassy.

This week Class 5 have been busy designing and creating our fantastic Christmas gift tags. After researching existing products we created our own designs. Then, using a range of craft materials, we set to work making our tags. Make sure you visit our stall on Friday to get yours!
Nursery have had a fantastic Christmas craft afternoon with parents coming in to join us. We did a variety of different activities including baking Christmas tree biscuits, decorating Christmas pictures, Christmas cutting activities and more. Please come and join us Tuesday 13th December 2.15pm for more fun!
We have been carefully designing rugby balls this week as part of a competition for Rochdale Hornets. When the winner is announced they will receive a visit from Hercules the Hornet who will award the winning child with a Rochdale Hornets rugby ball and the overall winner will win a Read more…

Children have enjoyed practising their throwing skills and applying their knowledge of Number in outdoor games. The children formed a line to take turns throwing the beanbag into a numbered bucket. They then recorded the number they had scored on the chalkboard.
This week we have been exploring and learning number bonds to 10 in maths. We have used lots of manipulative to help us such as numicon, ten frames and cubes.
This week in Maths Class 5 are exploring equal groups as part of our multiplication and division learning journey. Today we moved on to making equal groups. We used a range of concrete apparatus to represent the described groups. Next we will be thinking about how to count them!
In Class 5 we have been learning how to mix colours using the powder paints. We discovered that from using the three primary colours red, blue and yellow, we could also make green, orange and purple. We have shown what we have learned by creating these vibrant colour wheels!
Our Year 5/6 girls dodgeball team played in a tournament at Siddal Moor on Thursday. They played against the other schools in the Heywood Sports Alliance and came brilliant joint 5th out of 9 schools. Well done girls!
