Good morning Year 6! We hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready for another week of home learning.

Here are your home learning tasks for this week.

English

  • Find 20 minutes in your day to read. This is one of the main skills you need to be maintaining at the moment. Books Lover Gift Notebook: Reading Reader Book Lover Literature ...
  • Write part of a story. We have provided a story mountain in your home learning pack.

Think about your setting, characters and the problem they will face. Write this up in to two – three paragraphs. Focus on describing the place the story starts – how will you build atmosphere? What is your character like? How might you show their personality through actions?

Maths

  • Complete the short division worksheet in your home learning pack. See this link for more information if you have forgotten this strategy.

Other activities

Choose a move and see how long you can perform it. E.g. a football skill, standing on one foot, running on the spot, star jumps etc. Record your result today, practise this week and see if you can improve by Friday!

As always, if you want to get in touch with us, either comment on the blog or ask an adult to email your class teacher. We’d love to know how you’re all getting on.
