Good morning Year 3,

I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend and are keeping safe at home. Every day I will post your tasks for the day on our class blog along with some extra activities to keep you busy.

  1.  Every weekday morning at 9am, Joe Wicks ‘The Body Coach’ will hold a 30 minute workout session on his YouTube channel to keep you active. Just go on to YouTube and search ‘The Body Coach TV’.
  2. READING, READING, READING! (15 minutes)
  3.  Maths Task 1 – 5 arithmetic questions and 5 reasoning questions. I have included questions on learning we have already done in Year 3 so these should be revision activities. If you are stuck, or unsure, don’t worry – just have a go (45 minutes)
  4. ‘The Happy Hunter and the Skilful Fisher’ reading comprehension (45 minutes)
  5. Spelling practise – practise one column of look, cover, write, check.
  6. Begin your history project focusing on our learning about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. It might be a good idea to plan it out first. Think about how you can present your work as creatively as possible. Here are some websites to help with any research and ideas (1 hour): https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/z82hsbk, https://www.pinterest.co.uk/kizzcg/stone-age-projects/?autologin=true, https://www.twinkl.co.uk/resource/t2-h-441-stone-age-craft-ideas
  7. Finish the day with some handwriting in your handwriting book. Practise your long letters which should touch the bottom pink line (20 minutes)

Other activities to keep you busy today:

  •  Make a bookmark at home to keep track of your reading.
  •  If you don’t know how to tie your shoelaces, practise!
  • Today is another lovely day, do some gardening. Are there any weeds that need pulling or bushes that need trimming?

TT Rockstars – I have set up everyone’s log in for TT Rockstars. To log in, you need the first 3 letters of your first name and the first 3 letters of your second name for your username and your date of birth for your password.

For example, if my name was John Smith my username would be johsmi. If my birthday was on the 1st January 2011 my password would be 01012011. All passwords are 8 digits.

Check our class blog every morning for activities to keep you busy, upbeat and motivated!

Keep smiling,

Miss Wolf 😀
