Happy Hump Day everyone,

As we celebrated VE Day on Friday and posted Friday’s work on Monday, we are a day behind. This means that today’s work is Tuesday’s work on your timetable. Hope this makes sense! Please find today’s activities below and something extra to keep you busy:

Daily exercise

Make sure you get some exercise in every day. This could be going for a walk, a bike ride, an assault course in your garden or a workout video from YouTube. There are lots of good videos on YouTube, click here for a dance tutorial by Kidz Bop to Can’t Stop The Feeling.

Maths

Your Power Maths pages today are 122-124 and we are moving on to a new topic – fractions. Today you will be focusing on unit and non-unit fractions. Please make sure you look at the textbook pages below before beginning. This will help with your understanding:

 

English

Create a Thank You NHS card. We have included a number of templates for you to use however you can create your own too. The focus today is the message you include inside. Make sure your draft your message first before writing it inside the card. If you are able to, send your card to your local doctor’s surgery or hospital.

Fluency

Complete the 4x table chatterbox. Follow the instructions carefully and then practise your 4x tables.

RHE

This week, your afternoon work will focus on a new RHE topic – Money Matters. Your activity today is to research different ways to pay. Complete the ‘Ways to Pay Grid’ by researching online or discussing with an adult. If you can, use Google to search. Remember to only search short phrases e.g. Definition of credit card OR advantages of using debit card OR disadvantages of bank account.

Extra activities

This week is National Vegetarian Week. It is an annual event to educate people on the benefits of eating a meat-free diet. During National Vegetarian Week people are encouraged to try going meat-free for a week, with vibrant and exciting vegetarian recipes being promoted and shared.

Why not plan a meat-free meal for tonight’s tea? Research recipes online and see what you can create. You can plan your meal by using the plate below…make sure you label each food.

Purple Mash

Just a reminder…to allow you to keep in touch with your friends, school have set up an emailing service on your purple mash account. If you log on to purple mash > computing > 2Email, you can email your classmates in an easy and safe way. Let your friends know what you have been up to and wait for a reply back.
