Year 1 really enjoyed a visit from Skylight Circus this morning learning lots of circus skills. We balanced feathers on our hands and chin, juggled, practiced spinning plates and even tried to spin plates on our finger!
In Year 1 we looked at some poetry together to celebrate national poetry day. The focus of this years national poetry day was the environment. We read some poems and looked for the rhyming words. We then created our own nature acrostic poem.
In Maths this week we have been focusing on the words ‘greater’ and ‘less than’. We have been using the greater than and less than symbols to compare 2 groups of objects. Today we looked at the number line and we had to identify and fill in the missing numbers.

We have been learning how to make new colours in our Art lessons by mixing blue, red and yellow. Children have enjoyed exploring this further in the provision mixing lots of different colours and shades!
Reception have been learning all about the artist Jackson Pollock. Pollock is famous for his drip painting techniques, so we had a go at making our own splatter paintings.
