Last week, we continued our rainforest art project and created another version of our animal using collaging. We focused on adding colour to our animals and then used a contrasting black and white back ground using newspapers and text from books.
Today pupils in Class 11 helped to describe the different Power Maths characters: Flexible Flo, Determined Dexter, Curious Ash, Brave Astrid and Sparks. After a break in the Spring term, Mr Stamp & Miss Wolf’s after school football club for Year 5 & 6 commenced again today. 15 boys are attending this half term and all were really keen to show new skills and improvements since we last got together.
Our new topic is balanced arguments and today we took the roles of for, against and a even had ajudge. We used our persuasive vocabulary and strong sentence openers to put forward our arguments. Class 12 did a great job of verbalising their opinions and stating reasons why. Questions included: should children be allowed to go on any video games? Should summer holidays be cut down to 2 weeks? Should all schools have a sports field?
Year 5 created a variety of exciting fantasy stories for their special write. Children chose their own character and created a portal where the character went to an unusual fantasy setting.
