Hello Year 5! We hope you had a good half term and managed to enjoy the lovely weather that we have had. Here are some activities that are in your new home learning pack to complete today – just to keep you busy and keep your brains active. Do not panic if you’re struggling with anything. Teachers are making telephone calls again this week – we look forward to being able to speak to you again and hear about what you have been up to. I will be ringing Class 11 tomorrow (Tuesday).

This week you will write a short 100-word story every day. This is your ‘Mission 500’ – to write 500 words in a week based on different genre types.
ACTIVITY
We were meant to be studying the Mayans in school this term. In preparation for when we get back, I thought it might be interesting for you to research the Day of the Dead Festival that takes place every year in Mexico. Have a look at the masks that the people wear and have a go at designing your own. Here are 3 bright examples! Perhaps you could use paper plates if you have them? These will be sturdier than a piece of paper. I look forward to seeing them!
