Good morning Year 1
Today is Wednesday and we have lots of fun home learning activities planned for you.
Morning lessons:
Reading book- start your day by reading your school reading book or a book from home for at least 15 minutes.
Phonics lesson – Read, Write Inc. Daily lessons on Youtube:
Speed Sounds Set 1 – 9.30 am
Speed Sounds Set 2 – 10.00 am
Speed Sounds Set 3 – 10.30 am
Maths pages 41-42 End of Unit check.
English –Write a short weather report for today’s weather. What adjectives can you use to describe the weather and what kind of activities would you tell someone to do today? Is it warm enough for a nice walk? Should you wear a coat today? Why not search online for a real-life weather report and then act out your own report like a weather presenter!
Afternoon:
10 minutes of mindfulness – use the mindfulness sheet and pick one or two ideas to help you relax for an afternoon of learning.

Handwriting practise – use the Read Write Inc. letter formation sheet given in the previous home learning pack. Pick 4/5 letters and practise the letter formation for 10-20 minutes.
Geography Lesson 1 Week 1- Complete worksheet: Coastal Areas of the United Kingdom.
Can your child name the 4 countries that make up the UK? Challenge- can they point to the 4 countries on the map?Explain coastal areas are around the edge of the UK. They are by the sea. Can your child look at the map and circle the places that are by the sea. Can they then colour the land in green and the sea in blue?
