Good Morning Year 1!
We hope you’re ready for a new day of fun home learning.
Parents – you are able to pick up a new home learning pack from school which will contain your child’s Power Maths book, set English work and other activities for the next two weeks.
Here are your tasks for today:
Morning:
Reading: read your school reading book or a book from home for at least 15 minutes.
Phonics lesson: Read, Write Inc. Daily lessons on Youtube:
- Speed Sounds Set 1 – 9.30 am,
- Speed Sounds Set 2 – 10.00 am
- Speed Sounds Set 3 – 10.30 am
Please pick one lesson for your child to do.
Maths: Power Maths Workbook C pages 12-14.
English: Write a short letter to a friend/relative telling them about your house (in your exercise book). What is your favourite room in your house and why? Can you tell them what is in the room and use exciting adjectives to describe them? Use the ‘writing a letter’ support sheet to help you structure this. Don’t forget to use Super 6!
Afternoon:
Maths fluency:

Handwriting Practise: See Read Write Inc. letter formation worksheet. Pick 5/6 letters to practise in your exercise book.
Science- Children should complete the Science Day 3 activities included in the home learning pack.
Additional fun activities to do during the day! Some ideas for fun activities to do after your home learning is complete:
- Make home made play dough ! https://www.thebestideasforkids.com/playdough-recipe/ have fun creating lots of different shapes with your play dough. Could you even make a plant or flower and label the key parts?
- Keeping within our plant topic- why not try some leaf painting? https://www.thebestideasforkids.com/leaf-painting/ this fun activity will allow you to explore the different leaves from different plants and trees. Can you name the plant or tree that the leaf has some from?
