Good morning Year 1

We hope you’re ready for a new day of home learning!

Here is a reminder of your home learning tasks for today:

Remember to keep active with Joe Wicks’ workout or why not try out some of the movement and mindfulness videos on  GoNoodle to get you ready for the day ahead!

Reading/Phonics: Tune into your daily Read Write Inc lesson.

All lessons will be available at 9.30 am.

Set 1, 2 and 3 Speed Sounds lessons will restart.
Set 2 and 3 Speed Sounds lessons will include new words for reading and spelling.

Complete the second 2 worksheets. Recap the new sound ‘aw’ and complete the tasks.

Carrying on from yesterday, reinforce the purpose of the analogue clock. If you have an analogue clock or watch, allow children to use this to change the time and give them times to change the clock hands to (only to the hour, e.g 2 o’clock.) Replay yesterday’s video.

Task: Complete the worksheet with given times.

Afternoon Activities

History- Create A Time Capsule

If you haven’t done so already, now is a perfect time to create a time capsule to remember your home learning experience when you’re older!

You’ll need: a shoe box, decorations and a collection of mementos from around the house.

The great thing about time capsules is that you can choose what you want to put in them. You could trace around your hand and date it, make a ‘current info’ card listing your height, age and hobbies, write a letter to your future self or include photos of you and your family.

When you’ve filled your box, seal it, decorate it and hide it somewhere in the house to find later. Try to set a limit on when you are allowed to open it – the longer the better!

If you have any questions about the work or would like to send us any pictures, please ask an adult to email:

Have a great day!
