We’ve had a great morning celebrating World Book Day in Class 9. There some really fantastic costumes!

We read two versions of Little Red Riding Hood – the traditional tale and then the alternative Wolf’s Story. The children were then asked to consider the evidence from both books and decide who they thought was the baddie in the story. There was a lot of debate as to whether it was The Big Bad Wolf or Little Red Riding Hood. Some children even suggested the Woodcutter could be the bad guy.

We then made wanted posters for our chosen baddie before designing cupcakes for Little Red Riding Hood to take to her grandma’s house. We then got the opportunity to decorate our own cupcakes – and eat them!

Each child also received a special bookmark to mark the occasions and a £1 World Book Day token that they can either swap for one of a few selected books, or use as money off a more expensive book.
