Class 4 did a fantastic job dressing up as words for world book day. We celebrated the day with all things books and reading!
Today in class 5, we celebrated world book day! We made bookmarks, our own books looking at the features of a book, and made character story spoons.
Today we celebrated World Book Day. We dressed up as words and then explored the Mr Men series of books by Roger Hargreaves. After reading a couple of stories including Mr Bump and Mr Grumpy, we designed our own Mr Men characters and wrote stories about them.
Lots of fun and learning in provision this week. We have been classifying animals, using adjectives to describe, building fairy houses, recognising alien words, practicing fact families, and even having a go at learning how to crochet!
Using clues from the text and images relating to the novel, we used our prior knowledge and inference skills to make predictions about the exciting new book we are going to be reading this half term.
A big well done to all the children who achieved their Bronze, Silver and Gold reading challenge awards.
Nursery have been reading the story of The Gingerbread Man. We acted out the story in our small world story area, and we made our own gingerbread characters in the creative area. We even tasted some yummy gingerbread man biscuits whilst listening to the story!
