This week, Class 9 have been learning what it was like for children living in the Victorian Era.

We used primary sources of information, including photos, sketches, and extracts from government reports and novels from the time, to investigate living and working conditions for children.

We  discovered that children had to do dangerous jobs in mines, factories and up chimneys, for long hours and poor pay, had little or no breaks and that many children were injured and even died doing this work.
