Language & Communication: Can war resolve conflict?

This week, in Language and Communication our discussion was related to our focus text in English (The Iron Man) and our focus question was:

We discussed this question with our partners and then shared our opinions with the class. We thought carefully about the vocabulary we used and came up with some great words including:

• conflict
• dispute
• peace
• resolve
• enemy
• prevail
• violence

Our opinions were mixed (Yes: 6, No: 17, Maybe: 4) but the children were very sensible during the discussions, disagreeing in a respectful, mature way and were able to justify their opinions well.
