Good Morning Class 9!

I’ve decided that I’m naming today “Thankful Thursday”. It’s so hard in these times to be negative; to focus on the things that we can’t do or the problems that we face. But today I want you to think about what you are thankful for.

I am thankful for all the NHS/hospital workers on the frontline every day. I have friends who are doctors/nurses and have other roles within the NHS and I know they are worrying about their own health, but they still go to work every day to help others. I am also extremely thankful for technology – that even though I can’t physically see my friends and family, I can keep in touch with them through the wonders of technology and that, even though we’re not in school, we have the technology to keep teaching and learning.

What are you thankful for? Leave a comment below to let everyone know.

Charlie has sent these water colour pictures he’s painted:

And Madison did a wax resist painting of the Eiffel Tower:

If you want to send pictures of what you’ve been doing or examples of work, ask your parents to email them to me at class9@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk. I really do love to see them – they always make me smile.

Here are your tasks for today:

  • Daily Reading (at least 15 minutes – please record in your reading record)
  • Maths: Power Maths Unit 9, Lesson 8: Problem Solving – Fractions of a Quantity 2 (Book B – Pg 115-117). Here’s the Discover & Think Together guidance to help:
  • English: Creative Writing Task 2
  • Fluency: Summer Arithmetic Test 2
  • Science: Lesson 4 – The Water Cycle (1)
  • Something fun:
    • Make your own bookmark! We know you all are reading lots of books at home- so why not create your own very special bookmark!  http://www.playideas.com/25-diy-bookmarks-for-kids/
    • Practise your computer coding with scratch. What can you create? Follow this link: https://scratch.mit.edu/

Don’t forget to leave a comment to let everyone know what you’ve been up to! If you’ve missed any of the home learning, it’s still available on the blog so make sure to go back and catch up (particularly with the Maths or you may be lost).

If you have any questions about the work or want to send me photos or examples of the work you’ve been doing, please ask your parents to email me at class9@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk or you can leave a comment here on the blog.
