Good morning Class 10!

I hope you’ve all collected your new home learning packs from school. If not, please do so as soon as possible. They contain work for the next three weeks, taking us up to the half-term holiday.

Here is the work for today:

  • Daily Exercise: Beginners workout!

  • Daily Reading: at least 15 minutes – please record in your reading record
  • Maths: Power Maths Unit 12, Lesson 1  – Pounds and pence (Book C pg 29-31). Here’s the Discover & Think Together guidance to help (and if you’re struggling, check out this video)
  • English: Creative Writing Task 5 – Magic Biscuits
  • Spelling: Rainbow Writing – write the word in one colour, then go over it in another. Repeat until you run out of colours!
  • Fluency: Arithmetic Test Test 5
  • Computing: Choose one of the four areas from yesterday and come up with a story that shows the possible consequences of not following the online safety rules from your chosen area. You will need to show what happens and have a second character help them out by suggesting how the character could stay safe next time they take part in the same activity. Think about:
    • What are they doing online and why?
    • What do they do wrong?
    • What happens because of their unsafe behaviour?
    • How do they feel?
    • What should they do to stop the situation getting worse?
    • What should they do differently next time?
  • Something fun:
    • Create a family kindness jar. Every time someone does something kind, write it down and put it in the jar. When the jar is full you all deserve a special treat!
    • Make an ice and salt rainbow:

Don’t forget to leave a comment to let everyone know what you’ve been up to! If you’ve missed any of the home learning, it’s still available on the blog so make sure to go back and catch up (particularly with the Maths or you may be lost).

If you have any questions about the work or want to send me photos or examples of the work you’ve been doing, please ask your parents to email me at class10@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk or you can leave a comment here on the blog.

Miss Reed 😀
