Happy Monday! I hope you enjoyed your weekend in the sun (well, as much as you could given the circumstances).

Here are your Learning tasks for today

  • Daily Reading: at least 15 minutes – please record in your reading record
  • Maths: Power Maths Unit 11, Lesson 2: Writing decimals (Book C – Pg 9-11). Here’s the Discover & Think Together guidance to help (and if you’re struggling, check out this video)
  • English: Reading Comprehension – A Real Virtual World
  • Spelling: Use the internet/ dictionary to find the definitions
  • Fluency:
  •  RE – Hinduism Project. Research the first three questions on your sheet:
    • Who founded the Hindu religion and where?
    • What are the main beliefs of the Hindu religion?
    • What god/gods do Hindus worship?
  • Something fun: This week is Children’s Book Week so let’s get reading! Create a cosy ‘book nook’ – turn a corner of your bedroom (or the garden if you’re allowed) into an area where you can relax and enjoy a book. The more cushions…the better!
There are lots of websites offering free eBooks during your time learning from home so if you have access to a tablet or computer, explore the links below and find brand new books for FREE:

    • Oxford Reading Tree allows you to pick your book band from school e.g. gold and find books which are the best fit for you.
    • Storyline Online features famous celebrities reading books for you. You can get cosy and listen!
    • International Children’s Digital Library allows you to explore stories from different cultures. You can explore the different continents and see what interesting stories you can find.

Don’t forget to leave a comment to let everyone know what you’ve been up to! If you’ve missed any of the home learning, it’s still available on the blog so make sure to go back and catch up (particularly with the Maths or you may be lost).

If you have any questions about the work or want to send me photos or examples of the work you’ve been doing, please ask your parents to email me at class10@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk or you can leave a comment here on the blog.

    Miss Reed 😀
