Happy Friday Class 10.

This week has been Refugee Week and tomorrow is World Refugee Day.

What is a refugee?
A refugee is someone who has had to leave their home and country, as they are unable to stay. This may be due to persecution, war, natural disasters and more. Refugees are often unable to return to their home countries, as it would not be safe for them to do so. Refugees could be individuals, families or even children. According to the international charity Save the Children, there are around 25.4 million refugees around the world.

Take some time today to think how difficult it must be to leave your home and go to another country where you don’t know anyone and you don’t speak the language and most of the time have very little in terms of money and possessions and then consider this question: If you had to move house and could only take three things, which three things would you take with you?

Here is a reminder of your tasks for today:

  • Daily exercise: Wizard of Oz Yoga with Cosmic Kids: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_3weVPH0-U&vl=en-GB
  • Reading: At least 20 mins – please record in your reading record
  • Maths: Spring Term Work Out 8
  • English: Reading Comprehension – Peter Pan
  • Spelling Practise: Year 3/4 words. Use the ten you picked on Monday to write some sentences.
  • Something fun:
    • Finger Painting. Paint a picture using only your fingers! What different scenes can you create?

Don’t forget to leave a comment to let everyone know what you’ve been up to! If you’ve missed any of the home learning, it’s still available on the blog so make sure to go back and catch up.

If you have any questions about the work or want to send me photos or examples of the work you’ve been doing, please ask your parents to email me at class10@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk or you can leave a comment here on the blog.

    Have a great weekend!

    Miss Reed 😀
