We had a busy second day at Robin Wood! We started with solving puzzles in the dungeon, teamwork in the crate challenge and then the zip wire. Children showed bravery, cooperation and encouragement for each other. What a brilliant morning!
Class 14 had their first day of activities at Robin Wood today including climbing, night line, archery and trapeze. A few children were brave enough to try the climbing wall blindfolded! We are having so much fun already and showing excellent resilience and team work skills.
Year 6 children had their SATs this week to show what they had learnt in Reading, Maths and Spag. To congratulate children on their mature attitude, hard work and effort, they enjoyed a Dominoes Pizza party with doughnuts. Children also enjoyed an afternoon of rounders and dancing. To finish our science topic on evolution, we looked at various statements relating to humans and evolution. Children had to decide if they agreed, disagreed or neither agreed or disagreed. In Class 13 , we have started our new computing unit all about codes and ciphers that were used in the world wars. Class 13 had to decipher different challenges and create their own cipher, to see if that could test others in class.
Class 14 took part in a virtual reality experience to the Americas. We started with our Geography topic (North America) and experienced New York by day and night. We then took a trip to the Amazon in South America to see exciting creatures such as Jaguars and Tarantulas. This linked Read more…
We have had an exciting day in Class 13 as we got to experience virtual reality! Children all had the opportunity to look around some of the famous sites of America and experience seeing different creatures from the Amazon Rainforest.
This half-term we have started our poetry topic. This week we are reading ‘A Kid in my Class’ and have begun to create our Kenning poems using compound adjectives. We will use these to create our poems tomorrow about ourselves.
For our D&T topic, we used recycled clothing to design and create bags. We researched different types of bags and fabrics and used our sewing skills to create some unique designs. Have a look at our fantastic finished creations!
This year marks the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee , and as a school we want to celebrate this historic landmark. Children in Class 13 have been creating poetry to celebrate the Queen and all her achievements.
