Understanding the impact of speech in a text

In English, we have been reading and enjoying ‘The boy in the striped pyjamas’. During our reading week, we looked closely at the use of dialogue between characters and how it helps us to understand more about them. We looked at how the characters Bruno and Samuel spoke to each other after first meeting and what their body language and expression would have been like. We then worked in pairs to act out this part of the text.
