In science as part of our forces unit, we moved on to investigating the effects of air resistance on an object. Class 11 were given the task to design and test parachutes for a company who wanted the most effective parachute for a gradual and safe landing. We tested 4 different materials and came up with a hypothesis and then made all our variables clear and fair.

We dropped each parachute from the same height 3 times each in order to get an average time and avoid any anomalies. The plastic parachutes, made from shopping bags, dropped at a slower rate making them the safest and most air resistant material.
