This week in RHE we have been thinking about dangers, risks and hazards.

We learnt that, although the terms are used interchangeably, they have distinct definitions.

  • Danger: Something that will definitely cause you harm
  • Hazard: Something that could cause you harm
  • Risk: An action that you take in a hazardous situation

For example, a hazard would be a busy road and the risk would be crossing the road.

We then had to sort out a selection of cards, deciding if they were a danger, hazard or risk.
