What an excellent turn out of fire engines, paintings and pictures we have had in class 4 for our pre~learning task set before the half term holidays. I think the children (and parents) have had lots of fun making them too!

Yesterday, we learnt the story of Guy Fawkes and why we celebrate Bonfire Night. Some children wrote the story of Guy Fawkes using story boards and we all enjoyed creating bonfire pictures using straws and brightly coloured paints! fire
In PE we are learning how to roll and throw using underarm and over arm techniques. We worked in pairs to master each skill so we will be able to apply these skills when we move on to playing ball games.
In Year 1 in maths this week we have been looking at new vocabulary; less than, greater than and equal to. We started by using concrete objects to compare amounts moving on to using the correct symbols to complete number sentences. Good work Year 1!
In PE we have been learning how to join a sequence of movements and jumps using low level equipment. We have also learnt how to pick up and move equipment safely. Well done Class 4!
In Year 1 we have been learning about the properties of 3D shapes this week. We have learnt about faces, vertices and edges then worked together to create our very own cuboids, cubes and triangular prisms!
Class 4 have been looking at 2D shapes this week in maths! We have made shape robots and categorised and sorted shapes according to their properties. Next week we look forward to moving on to exploring 3D shapes.
As part of our linked learning topic where we have been looking at toys, we have been designing and making our very own sock puppets with fabulous results!
