Last week, we conducted an experiment into the best shape for a parachute. The criteria was that the parachute must have the most air resistance. We first created a hypothesis for which shape would be most effective to safely deliver buzz light year to the ground and why. We dropped each parachute from the same height and timed how long it took to reach the ground. The parachute with the slowest time was the safest and most effective parachute. This turned out to the the A4 piece of paper as it had the largest surface area and therefore the biggest air resistance. To finish the lesson Miss Bishop showed us a video of when she jumped out of a plane and went sky diving!
