This half term we are studying Gymnastics again in PE and are focusing on balancing.

We started by talking about what a balance was and the different parts of our body we could balance on. We revised some key vocabulary:

  • Patches – large parts of our body (such as back, front, bottom)
  • Points – smaller parts of our body (such as hands, feet, knees, elbows etc)
  • Points of contact – the places our body touches the floor/apparatus

We then experimented with trying to find different ways to balance, depending on the number of points of contact we were allowed. As a challenge we had to try and balance in synchrony with our partner.
