Class 8 have been exploring place value with the equipment, making sure they are secure in their understanding of number. We have been ordering and comparing numbers focusing on the 100s, 10s and 1s.

Class 8 have been working on their cooperative skills. They had a task of creating different shapes using a tangram and their sharing/communication skills were put to the test! Some great team work happening here!
Year 3 had a wonderful time exploring the gardens at RHS Bridgewater in Salford. We spent the day observing and identifying vegetables and fruit plants, making dens, doing leaf rubbings and walking around the beautiful grounds. Class 8 have been investigating magnetic metals with pennies and have been working scientifically to record data and analyse it.
In geography we have been learning about mountains, how they are formed and the different shapes. We studied a mountain in Wales and recreated it’s jagged features. Can you guess the mountain? It’s not Snowdon.
The gardening club have been really busy harvesting radishes and making friends with snails. Let’s hope they don’t eat our veggies! Also, check out how tall our sunflowers are getting. They have been loving all this sun and rain!
Year 3 have been working hard with equivalent fractions in maths. Today we worked practically to find equivalent fractions for 1 whole. It really helped to make the fractions physically.
Class 8 have been learning about the carnival festival in France and made their own colourful masks like the ones in Nice. We had lots of fun learning the words for the tasty French carnival treats.
