3D Shapes!
In Year 1 we have been learning about the properties of 3D shapes this week. We have learnt about faces, vertices and edges then worked together to create our very own cuboids, cubes and triangular prisms!

Class 4 have been looking at 2D shapes this week in maths! We have made shape robots and categorised and sorted shapes according to their properties. Next week we look forward to moving on to exploring 3D shapes.
Great effort from Year 3 and 4 boys football team at Heywood Sports Village this week! Won 3, drew 2 and lost 2! Same again next week for the second round.
Today we have started our new topic in maths looking at 2D shapes. We familiarised ourselves with shapes we already know and learnt some new ones such as heptagon, octagon and pentagon. Then we made robots and labelled them with the correct shapes!
As part of our linked learning topic where we have been looking at toys, we have been designing and making our very own sock puppets with fabulous results!
Well done to year 5 and 6 boys who took part in a tournament at Heywood Sports Village last week. Although the rain was pouring the boys did not give up and played as a super team. Thank you to all the parents who also came to support! Let’s hope Read more…
We started our new topic this week in Science ‘identifying plants.’ The children enjoyed looking at exploring plants in our outside area, then we planted our own seed and predicted what it will look like in a few weeks time. Stay posted to find out how it grows!
As part of our Beliefs and Value topic, Class 4 have been discussing what types of things make a good friend. Once we had decided on the best ones, we poured each one into a magic potion to create a good friend potion.
