Good Morning everyone! 😊

Here are the activities we would like you to complete today.

As part of your daily exercise this morning, put on your favourite playlist and dance like no-ones watching!

Reading – Read a few pages of one reading book and use the comprehension questions linked on the class page to check children’s understanding.  Please make sure you record any reads in the reading record as usual.

Fluency Complete set A or B of one of the fluency tasks.  Some of you do not have a sheet with Set A or B, please just choose one of the worksheets provided to complete (addition, subtracion, odd and even numbers, multiples of 2, 5 10)

Maths – In your Power Maths booklet complete the ‘describing movement‘ lesson.   Please find the worksheets below along with the discover guidance to help you if needed.

English –  Over the next few days, we would like you to have a go at writing your very own space adventure story! In your pack we have included lots of resources to help with this.  Today we would like you to begin by planning your story using the planning mountain.  Your story will need a beginning (box 1), build up to a problem (box 2), a problem (box 3), a resolution to solve the problem (box 4) and an ending (box 5) -Just like our Traction Man stories we wrote at the beginning of the year.

Spellings – Practice week 3 spellings (look in your pack to see which ones you have been given)

Science – Complete Growth and Survival worksheet 6D.  It asks you to make a face out of fruit and vegetables.  Be as creative as possible – you could use real fruit, paint, draw, create it online… its up to you.  Don’t forget you can email us any work you have completed, we would love to see your creations!

Other ways to keep busy today:

      • Year 2 children now have their own account on Timestable Rockstars. Why not earn some gold coins and play with your class mates in some friendly competitions. You should have received an information sheet in your pack.  Your username will be the first 3 letters of your first name and the first 3 letters of your surname. Your password will be your date of birth. For example, if your name is William Smith and your date of birth is 13th April 2013, your username and password would be – wilsmi and 130413.
      • Quick draw. Set a 1 minute timer, draw a quick doodle and see if the other person can guess what it is before the time is up.
      • Lego challenge. You and four friends are stuck on desert island – build a boat that will get you home. (feel free to use other construction materials if you don’t have any Lego).

Keep updated daily for home learning reminders, helpful tips and more fun activities to keep you busy and motivated!

    See you all very soon!
