Good Morning everyone! 😊 we hope you had a lovely weekend, remember you can email us via our class emails (class5@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk or class6@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk) to let us know what you’ve been up to!

We are now on week 3 of the new term and you should have received a new home learning pack from school.

Here are the activities we would like you to complete today.

As part of your daily exercise this morning, pick a dance video from Go Noodle.

Reading – Read a few pages of one reading book and use the comprehension questions linked on the class page to check children’s understanding.  Please make sure you record any reads in your reading record as usual.

Fluency –  Complete set A or B of one of the fluency tasks.  Some of you do not have a sheet with Set A or B, please just choose one of the worksheets provided to complete (addition, subtracion, odd and even numbers, multiples of 2, 5 10)

Maths – In your Power Maths booklet complete the ‘Counting in quarters‘ lesson .  Please find the worksheets below along with the discover guidance to help you if needed.

English –  This weeks English is going to be based around a space theme! Imagine you have just discovered a new planet and complete the ‘design your own planet’ worksheet. What colour is the planet you have found? Who/what lives there? What is it made of?

Spellings – Practice week 3 spellings (look in your pack to see which ones you have been given)

Science – Continue to research different animals using the growth and survival research cards in your pack.

Other ways to keep busy today:

      • Draw a map of your local area and identify physical and human features (just like we did for our visit to Queens Park!)
      • Year 2 children now have their own account on Timestable Rockstars. Why not earn some gold coins and play with your class mates in some friendly competitions. You should have received an information sheet in your pack.  Your username will be the first 3 letters of your first name and the first 3 letters of your surname. Your password will be your date of birth. For example, if your name is William Smith and your date of birth is 13th April 2013, your username and password would be – wilsmi and 130413.

Keep updated daily for home learning reminders, helpful tips and more fun activities to keep you busy and motivated!

    See you all very soon!

    Miss Powers and Miss Sharp
