Good Morning everyone! 😊.

Happy summer term! We hope you had a lovely Easter and are all staying safe!

Parents – If you haven’t already please pick up a new home learning pack from school which will contain the tasks that have been set for your child for the next two weeks.

Here are the activities we would like class 5 and 6 to complete today.

Children can begin their morning with ‘Joe/The Body Coach’ who is posting live 30 minute PE lessons on YouTube every morning at 9am.  Follow the link on his page: https://www.thebodycoach.com/blog/pe-with-joe-1254.html

Or why not try out some of the movement and mindfulness videos on  GoNoodle – https://www.gonoodle.com/

Reading – Read a few pages of one reading book and use the comprehension questions linked on the class page to check children’s understanding.

Fluency –  Complete set A of Mad Maths Minutes (addition and subtraction within 100 or addition within 20 – look in your pack to see which set has been provided).

Maths – In your Power Maths Book complete the ‘Finding a half’ lesson on pages 122-124.  Please find the worksheets below along with the discover guidance to help you if needed.

English – Complete day 1 of the English writing task by answering the prediction questions.

Spellings – Practice your week 1 spellings by writing them out in different colour pens!

Science – Complete growth and survival worksheet 1B using the picture cards B. The aim of this worksheet is to find out about the offspring of a variety of different animals.

Other ways to keep busy today:

  • Create  a handprint tree!
  • #DrawwithRob.  All you need is a piece of paper and a pencil! Follow the link: http://www.robbiddulph.com/draw-with-rob. Rob is also doing live drawing lessons every Tuesday and Thursday at 10am.
  • #Heywood Rocks – On your daily exercise, look for & collect stones and rocks you could paint. Decorate them with bright, colourful pictures and positive messages – place them around your neighbourhood for others to find! (Remember to maintain social distancing rules while doing this.)

Keep updated daily for home learning reminders, helpful tips and more fun activities to keep you busy and motivated!

See you all very soon!

Miss Powers and Miss Sharp 😊

Hi I have got out Ryan’s learning pack this morning and the maths book does not start until page 125 which means this morning’s maths task is not there

Good Morning Nicola, sorry to hear this! children should have been given ‘Power Maths Practice Book 2B’ with their learning packs and the ‘finding a half’ lesson starts on page 122. Page 125 should be the ‘Recognising a quarter’ lesson. Is this not the case? are you able to send a picture to the class email (class5@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk) to show me what you mean?

    Thanks, Miss Powers
