Remembrance Day
Today we learned about Remembrance Day and why we wear a poppy. We talked about remembering soldiers who fought and are still fighting to protect us. The children made their own poppies to display in our classroom.

We read the story ‘Aliens love Underpants’ this week in our story craft club. The children talked about their favourite underpants that the cheeky aliens stole and designed their own using lots of different craft materials. The children spent time making their underpants as colourful and interesting as possible!

Today we talked about Bonfire night. We discussed why we celebrate it and how to be safe at a bonfire. The children made their own special sparklers and made some chocolate apples which they ate in front of their bonfire.
This week we have been learning about 2D shapes. We have been looking for shapes in our environment. We played shaped hunters, searching for shapes around the classroom, made models out of shapes and looked at how 3D shapes print different 2D shapes!

This week we are learning about all the different nationalities we have in our class. We learnt how to say hello in different languages today and practiced greeting each other using the new words we had learnt.
In today’s music lesson we introduced the children to some musical instruments. We learnt the names of the instruments and listened to what different sounds they made. We added our instruments to one of our nursery rhymes.
