Colours, shapes and patterns
Nursery have been looking at different colours, shapes and patterns. We started by making patterns during different activities, for example, pins and boards and threading. We then made pattern pictures.

Nursery have had a visit today from a lovely dental nurse called Amy. She painted the children’s teeth with a special paint to help protect them.
For our morning maths session the children have been learning that anything can be counted including actions, for example, claps, hops and jumps.
The children in nursery have been learning about Remembrance Day and have enjoyed making their own Poppy’s.
The children have been creating their own pumpkins and potions today in nursery getting ready for Halloween.
Nursery have been pretending that they are doctors today. The children enjoyed pretending to be doctors by putting bandages on each other and chatting about their symptoms. They also developed their vocabulary by using words such as ‘patient’, ‘stethoscope’ and ‘oxygen mask’.
Nursery have been taking part in regular group time activities to support the development of communication and language. The group activities aim to support the children’s development in listening and attention, speaking and understanding.
Nursery have been developing their gross motor skills by climbing in the outdoor area. The children climbed up onto the bench, walked across and then carefully jumped off.
