Sorting Objects Into Groups

Children in class 5 have been looking at all the different ways we can sort objects into different groups. We looked at colour, size, shapes, animals transport and more! children worked individually and as a team to place them into the correct groups.  

Early writing

Children have used whiteboards and pens, pencils, felts, pom-poms and paint to create those early writing marks and movements, following lines and patterns to help concentration and develop the  control of mark making tools.  

Fine motor development

Chopping fruit and and veg is a fun way for children to develop their frine motor skills and their hand eye coordination. This helps their concentration also and develops the muscles children use in early writing.  

Underpants toast

Children have made underpants toast! From reading our story one of our activities was making toast decorticated with food  colouring and toasting it before enjoying the toast! The children loved this activity.      

Autumn and more!

Children have been exploring Autumnal objects this week, creating pictures from leaves they collected and enjoyed leaf printing. We looked at colours and patterns and spoke about the weather in autumn. Welcome back!

Children have had a fun week back, making friends and exploring their environment. Read Write Inc

This week children are starting our read write inc phonics programme. The last two weeks we have learnt the pictures that go with the letter sound only. Today we have started to learn the letter sound too and some children chose to practise writing the sound on the white boards. Read more…
