Good morning Year 6. We hope you’re well! It’s been lovely to hear from some of you who got in touch to let us know what you got up to over half term.

The home learning for today is:

English

  • Read your reading book for at least 20 minutes today. Remember, keeping up with your reading is one of the most important things you should be doing at the moment. If you can read, and can read fluently, you can teach yourself how to do absolutely anything you choose in the future!
  • English Task – relative clauses work sheet (see home learning pack). Remember, relative clauses add extra detail to a sentences, usually using who, which or that. E.g. Harwood Park is in Heywood, which is near Manchester. If you’re unsure and would like more information, this website has a very good explanation to help.

Maths

  • Arithmetic Test Summer 4 (see home learning pack). Remember, this should take about half an hour! Answers are included in the pack for you to check afterwards.
  • If you have access to an online device, try some Snappy Maths quick fire worksheet questions on something you’d like to improve.

Extra activity

Make a musical instrument by recycling items. E.g. rice in an empty bottle, elastic bands across a jam id (guitar) etc. We’d love to hear what you come up with.

We’re also really grateful to Cartwheel Arts in Heywood, who have very kindly donated an arts and crafts pack for every child at school. You can pick this up alongside your home learning packs this week. We’d love to see any pictures of things you create using them!
