Hi everyone!

We hope you’re getting on with your home learning tasks and have been enjoying yourselves.

Here is a reminder of your tasks for today:

English

  • Find some time in the day to read your reading book/a book of your choice. Do this for at least 15 minutes.
  • KS2 English SATs Buster – complete the next comprehension.
  • Punctuation booklet, pages 38-39 on semi-colons.
Remember semi colons can be used for two reasons.
    1) To separate two independent (main) clauses that closely relate to each other.
e.g.  It was a glorious day; the sun was shining brightly.

    2) They can also be used to separate items in a list if the list already contains internal commas.
e.g. The team will be main up of John Smith, swimmer; Ellie Jones, runner and Amelia Lee, cyclist.

Maths

  • Power Maths, pages 30-31 on equal distance.
In this lesson, you will learn about the radius,  which is the distance from the centre of a circle to the outer edge. Click here for more information about equal distances and radius. If you get stuck, comment below and we can help.

PE

Design your own ball game for a group of year 6 students. You could do this be incorporating ideas from exisiting ball games you already know, e.g. cricket, football, rugby, piggy-in-the-middle, curby etc.

Think about what kind of ball you will use, how many balls will be involved, how many on a team, how to score points etc.

If you have a ball at home, once you’ve made the rules, why not try it out! Let us know how you get on.

Extras:

  • The most important thing you can do is to keep on reading. You can never do too much reading! If you want to listen rather than read, Audible are offering free audiobooks at the moment so choose one, find a place to relax and listen away! David Walliams is still offering a free daily story read aloud.
  • Relax with Cosmic Kids Yoga.
  • If you have a garden, go on a mini-beast hunt. What can you find?
Or make art using the nature you find! Remember not to pick growing flowers to do this! Check with an adult first if you are unsure.
