Good morning Year 6! It was lovely to speak to some of you on the phone last week and hear about the activities you have been doing at home.

Alex Kellyevans (our current Deputy Children’s Champion) had a zoom meeting with the Children’s council. This involved questions with the police and nurses about current issues, keep up the great work Alex!

The activities planned for today are as follows:

English

  • Read your reading book for at least 20 minutes today. Use this as a time to relax and enjoy escaping to a new place in your book.
  • English Task – Non-Chronological Report

If you have access to the internet, research facts about an animal from the Amazon Rainforest and fill in the fact file with your notes. If you can’t access the internet, read the fact files about the sloth and emerald tree boar provided in your pack and make notes on the fact file sheet of one of these animals.

Maths

  • Measure with a protractor worksheet (see home learning pack).

Remember to read the correct side of the protractor (start at 0 and follow it around). Also check that your measurement is a sensible choice, think about whether the angle is smaller or greater than a right angle (90 degrees).

Extra activities

  • Write a letter to a classmate of your choice. Keep it safe until you next see them or send it to them if you can.
  • Create something using your new art pack from Cartwheel Arts – ask an adult to email us some pictures of your creations!

As always, if you need any help or would just like to get in touch we’d love to hear from you. Either comment below on the blog (you might even get a response from a friend) or ask an adult to email your class teacher. We look forward to hearing from you!
