Good morning Year 6! Today is Friday which means the end of the week and the end of this learning pack. We hope you are all doing well and enjoyed the activities. Don’t forget that it is half-term next week so make sure you relax and enjoy time with your family. Let’s hope for some more lovely weather!

The activities for today are:

English

  • Read for at least 15 minutes today. Have you read any particularly exciting books this half-term? Let us know any recommendations.
  • English creative writing task. Use the worksheet to write a film review of a film you have watched recently.
  • Finish your Latin words spelling worksheet from Monday.

Maths

Complete Power Maths ‘Converting fractions to percentages’ worksheet. Remember to convert the fraction so the denominator is 100 (the bottom of the fractions) then you will be able to convert the fraction to a percentage.

For example to find 3/5 as a percentage you need to make the denominator 100. Multiply the numerator and denominator by 20 which is 60/100 so the percentage is 60%.

Computing

  • Design an E-Safety poster for children your age on how to keep safe online. Use your worksheets and knowledge from the week to help you.
  • Optional extra – you could also log in to Purple Mash and complete some of the Year 6 Online Safety games and activities.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. This year’s theme is kindness, with the week running from 18 – 24 May.

The focus on kindness is a response to the coronavirus outbreak, which is having a big impact on people’s mental health.

Here are some kind acts you could try and do during half-term:
