Hi Year 6 – we hope you’re well and have enjoyed your week. It’s been nice to speak to some of you this week and find out what you’ve been up to.

Here are your activities for today:

English

  • As usual, ensure you read something of your choice at some point today. It was good to hear a lot of you have been reading a lot. Some recommendations when speaking with you this week were Harry Potter and Rooftoppers by the author of The Explorer, Katherine Rundell.
  • English creative writing task – can you write a simile poem following the instructions on the work sheet. If you are unsure what a simile is, there are some instructions on the worksheet or you can use this link to refresh your memory.
  • Complete the test part of the spelling worksheet for suffixes -ate and -ite.

Maths

  • Power Maths – Multiplying a fraction by a whole worksheet. Use the guidance on the reverse of the worksheet to jog your memory. If you want more instructions, use this Maths is Fun link. The information you need is about half way down the page.

Mindfulness

Complete a mindfulness task of your choice. Remember, these are activities designed to help you find calm.  What works for one person may not work for another. Trial different activities from the pack to see what works best for you!
