Good morning Year 5! How did you all get on with yesterday’s work? Let us know by commenting or emailing, we want to hear from you! Here are today’s tasks…

Maths
‘Ordering and Comparing Decimals (2)’ lesson seven in your Power Maths books. Don’t forget to use the ‘discover’ guidance in your packs (the page you need is: week 2, lesson 3).

English
Today we would like you to complete the worksheet titled ‘Use Brackets, Dashes and Commas to Show Parenthesis’ from your home learning packs. For each of the sentences you will need to add an extra information clause (parenthesis) in the spaces. Don’t forget the punctuation!

Reading
Continue to read your copy of The Phantom Tollbooth (pages 183–188). We have copied the pictures of the pages below for you if you wanted to read them on the blog. What do you make of Milo’s adventures so far? Have you had any new ideas for your own fantasy story? Hopefully we will be able to carry on writing those when we get back to school!

Arithmetic Test
Today you should have a go at Summer Test 3. Ask someone at home to check over your answers for you and let us know how you get on!

Geography
This week you need to create a final project outlining your understanding of South America – and in specific the Amazon Rainforest. Like your History project, this can be done on PowerPoint if you have access to a computer or it could be a hand-drawn leaflet or even an informative poster. It’s up to you!

Other Ideas
Cooking! How about helping out with a recipe at home for tonight’s tea – share the recipe with us and make us hungry!

Don’t forget you can get in touch with either me or Miss Bishop by posting a comment on this blog post or by emailing us at class11@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk or class12@harwoodpark.rochdale.sch.uk

Hope you all have a good day,
Mr Stamp & Miss Bishop
